Why dont people post?
I am racking my brains here on my website lets-do-diy.com no matter what I do people dont seem inclined to post. I am even offering £25 a month for anyone whose posted in a month. What is it with doityourself people do they not know how to use a DIY website?
I have even reduced the registration process to the absolute minimum.
Anyway Christmas is nearly here and I have to go and make a Santa's footprint, found a great kit at the kids shop.
Have a great one all.
See you in the New year for some new DIY ideas.

Dust dust dust
yesterday I was at home ill and I had a DIY nightmare I was awoken by 3 men up ladders using what looked like angle grinders to remove the mortar from the stone on the front of my neighbours house.
No maybe this is the correct way to do it, but the dust was unbearable the cars parked outside the house were black. Surely its a common sense to knock on your neighbours house and tell them there is going to be a load of dust so you had best move your car?
Or perhaps they were just being stupid and should of being using hammers and chisels like everyone else to remove the loose mortar?
It never cease to amaze me how some DIY tools can be abused.
They should have looked here: repointing

DIY at christmas
Ok so lets see what DIY tool or idea would make our christmas? I have to say for me it would be a simple tool for getting the tree straight and keeping it there.
Of course theres the magic paint brush or paint that on goes where you wont it, but those are just dreams arent they.
Anyway happy Christmas, I am off to buy a fake tree lol

never ending DIY
Why is it no matter how many DIY jobs you do theres always more, this weekend I fixed the leaky pipe under the sink and washing machine, scrubbed the decking (broke the broom) and cleared out the shed.
But now the gatepost out front is loose and the back gate has broken an upright.
I also need to reseal the roof in the conservatory because the silicone has come away.
Never did get round to doing all the jobs on my last list, still its 2.5 weeks to Christmas so I might just do it.
I am going to post the silicone question on the forum at DIY Forum

DIY advice at Christmas
Hi Diyers,
Well at this time of year non of us want to do any DIY but as the family are coming around the Mrs has found a list of things we need to sort out.
Stuff like fixing the gate thats half rotten so the kids and dog don't get loose and then sweeping up all the leaves off the decking. How the hell does that stuff get so slippery? anyone got any good tips for cleaning decking?
Mind you the White pvcu windows are still black from when we had the new flat roof done.
I need to paint the utility room ceiling and walls again because of the leak, why is it those water stains never go.
Then theres the chimney to sweep, those chimney sweepers are so hard to find now, I am half tempted to get a set of rod and brushes and doitmyself, I wonder why DIY is called doityourself not doitmyself?
The last home improvement to be done is to draft proof the front door so Grandad doesnt complain that hes sat in a draft.
Anyway all I am off down to B&Q to get some bits and get on with it.
